ORRA names new president

The Orlando Regional Realtor Association officially inducted member John Lazenby from Colony Realty Group Inc. as 2016 president at its annual awards and inaugural gala. Lazenby has served on a wide range of committees at ORRA, from grievance to strategic planning and government relations. Also installed on the ORRA 2016 Board of Directors were: Bruce Elliott, Regal R.E. Professionals LLC, as president-elect; Louis Nimkoff, Brio Real Estate Services LLC, as treasurer; and Lisa Ford, Charles Rutenberg Realty, as secretary. Sharon Voss, ORRA’s 2015 president, remains on the board as immediate past president. New directors installed on the ORRA 2016 Board of Directors include: Jim Batenchuk from Charles Rutenberg Realty; Joseph Doher from BHHS Results Realty; Jeffrey Fagan from Watson Realty Corp; and Beatrix Masotti from Coldwell Banker Residential RE. Directors whose terms continue through 2016 include: Natalie Arrowsmith from Arrowsmith Realty Inc.; Jill Boles from Don Asher & Associates Inc.; Dennis Burgess from Ameriteam Property Management; Tara Corriveau Merritt from Security National Mortgage Co.; Juan German from Carlos German & Team Inc.; Steve Graul from Good Neighbor Realty; Tansey Soderstrom from Real Estate Firm of Orlando; and Theodora Uniken Venema from Downtown Brokers LLC.

Firm arranges sale of Winter Park building

Hold-Thyssen Inc., recently arranged the sale of a two-story office building at 601 N. New York Ave. in Winter Park to a user-investor for $1.2 million. Hold-Thyssen brokerage team of Martin Forster, CCIM, and Joelle Forster brokered the transaction representing the seller, GFP Properties, Ltd. a/k/a Pebbles. The 8,670-square-foot building located close to Park Avenue was the long time home of the renowned restaurant group. The buyer, Seventh Gen Enterprises, LLC will occupy part of the building.

Blackton Inc. hires new marketing manager

Blackton Inc., a major provider of roofing and flooring materials to the homebuilding industry, has named Aubrie Blackton Smith marketing manager. Micky Blackton, chief executive officer of the 62-year-old family-owned firm said Smith, his daughter, graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Firm negotiates five new leases

Hold-Thyssen Inc., a commercial property firm based in Winter Park, recently negotiated five new leases for 11,287 rentable square feet of flex space at Kirkman and Edgewater Commerce Centers in Orlando. The Hold-Thyssen leasing team of Troy Stevens and Alex Rowlinson negotiated the transactions at both centers representing the landlord, a South Florida investor. ATF CrossFit leased 6,022 square feet at 701 S. Kirkman Road in Kirkman Commerce Center for three years. Another lease at Kirkman Commerce Center was a smaller 723 square feet for one year but the deal was executed the day of initial meeting and tenant Allied Trucking of Florida started doing business the following day. Also in December at Kirkman Commerce Center one-year leases were signed by Crash Marketing Corporation for 542 square feet and Florida Corporate Branding, for 2,400 square feet. At Edgewater Commerce Center, 6250 Edgewater Drive, Florida Interlock Inc. leased 1,600 square feet for five years.

Maitland Avenue building sold

NAI Realvest recently negotiated the $205,000 sale of a single-story, stand-alone office building located at 657 Maitland Ave. in Altamonte Springs. Chris Adams, associate at NAI Realvest, negotiated the transaction representing the seller, Habib Properties Florida LLC based in West Branch, Mich. The building, with 1,518 useable square feet, was purchased by Winston A.R. McClean, PA for its law practice.

NAI Realvest negotiates series of leases

NAI Realvest recently negotiated four new leases for a total of 6,074 rentable square feet of office space in Winter Park, Maitland and the downtown business district. Jeff Bloom, senior director at NAI Realvest, represented Landlord Pan Coastal LTD, Partnership of Orlando in a lease agreement with Allen and Newman PLLC for 2,244 square feet at 1850 Lee Road in the Lee World Center. Tom Heer of Landqwest represented the tenant.

Phase 2 of Aulin’s Landing opens

M/I Homes recently opened Phase 2 at Aulin’s Landing, a gated community located off County Road 419 about one mile east of the Econlockhatchee River in Oviedo in Southeast Seminole County. David Byrnes, area president for M/I Homes, said Phase 2 at Aulin’s Landing offers 17 homesites with homes ranging from 1,857 square feet of living area to 4,000 square feet.
