Students 11 years old and older are invited to take the Safe Sitter babysitting-preparation course at Health Central Hospital, 10000 W. Colonial Drive, Ocoee. Several sessions are offered this summer from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Gleason Conference Room: June 16-17, July 14-15 and Aug. 4-5.

The program has a medical basis that teaches pre-teens and teens life and safety skills to keep them safe.

Safe Sitters learn, among other facts, where and how injuries happen, how to decide the seriousness of an injury, how to prevent problem behavior, how to rescue a choking child and how to perform infant and child CPR.

Classes are available through Health Central University at Health Central Hospital. A fee of $50 covers the two-day program. For more information and to register, call (407) 296-1440 or email [email protected].
