Shred to Protect event returns to Ocoee Police Department

The Ocoee Police Department is looking to help spring cleaners safely dispose of confidential documents with its upcoming Shred to Protect event.

The second annual Shred to Protect will take 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 14 at the Ocoee Police Department Headquarters at 646 Ocoee Commerce Parkway. The event will run for three hours or until the trucks are full. The Ocoee Police Department is hosting the event in association with the Ocoee Lions Club, Ocoee Rotary Club and the Woman’s Club of Ocoee.

Participants are allowed to shred one box of documents for free. Those looking to dispose of more than one box of documents can do so with a suggested donation of $5 per box with a limit of five boxes. In addition to documents, participants also can bring old computer hard drives and other such devices to be destroyed at a cost of $5 per hard drive or device.
