After starting his football career four years ago in Dubai, Zane Fullmer is now leading Windermere Prep’s Middle School football team as its quarterback. With a 2-0 record so far, Fullmer hopes to continue the winning momentum as the season progresses.

What made you want to start playing football?

I started playing because I liked to watch the Steelers, and it looked really fun. So I started playing, and I really love it.

What is your favorite part of the game?

I like running, and I like to hit people.

What is it like playing the quarterback position?

You have to know all the plays and hope (the receivers) know them too and run the right route. And you have to get the handoffs right so they can try and score.

What been one of the biggest challenges of being quarterback?

Probably worrying about making sure that the line holds their block. They’ve been doing a great job doing that recently, so I'm not worried about that any more.

What’s one thing you are plan to work on this season?

Probably getting my elbow up a little more when I throw. When I get tired it drops down a little, and I'm less accurate when I throw.

How well do you think your team is playing so far this season?

I feel like we’re doing great. The first game started a little slow, but we were able to come back and win it. In the second game, the defense was really great and the blocking, too. The run game was super strong.

What’s your favorite part about being quarterback?

I like throwing the ball the most - throwing deep passes - and being the main guy, the leader on the team.

How do you feel when you make a successful deep pass?

It feels great. It means that everything went well for that to happen.

What is your favorite NFL team and player?

The Steelers and Antonio Brown.
