The front page of the March 8, 2007, West Orange Times featured a photo of the future Garden Theatre with its marquee lights glowing and confetti raining down on the crowd that had gathered below.

This ceremony celebrated one of the many milestones taking place at the historic theater, located at 160 W. Plant St. The grand opening of the theater was held a year later.

Thousands of local residents and guests have attended performances at the theater in the last decade. Prior to its rebirth, the theater space stored farm equipment belonging to Pounds Motor Co.

The theater originally opened in 1935 and closed in 1963.
