Kristi Heaton’s fourth-grade class at Thornebrooke Elementary recently made more than 100 comfort bags for the youngest victims of Hurricane Dorian.
Class families donated books, toys, puzzles, stuffed animals, candy, snacks, toothbrushes, shampoo, combs, hair ties, wipes, first-aid supplies, flashlights and more. Families packaged everything during the school's open house and included notes of encouragement.
Media specialist Ann Dobson said the bags were shipped by Samaroo Law to Dr. Moss, a pediatrician at the Luyacan Medical Center in Freeport, who will distribute them to children in the local community.
