Two men killed in crash on SR 429 near Ocoee

Two men died following a crash on State Road 429 Thursday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Thomas Greene, 25, of Apopka was driving northbound on SR 429 in a Ford Pickup truck with two passengers when he lost control of his vehicle for an unknown reason near Exit 24 and traveled across all the northbound lanes and overturned into the southbound lanes.

The Ford pickup flipped on top of another vehicle driven by Apopka resident Yordani Mellado Perez, 39, who died in the crash, according to an incident report. One of the passengers in the Ford pickup, Joseph Ruiz, 29, was also pronounced dead at the scene. 

Greene and his other passenger, Juan Figeroa, 40, were admitted to the hospital with critical injuries, and charges are pending against Greene.
