Bad news, Knight football fans. The UCF Knights have postponed the upcoming Friday night game against Tulane because of the hurricane bearing down on Central Florida.

Hurricane Matthew has gradually taken a more western track as it edges toward Florida packing 130mph winds. Forecast tracks show a possibility of it making landfall at Category 4 strength, making it the most powerful tropical cyclone to hit Central Florida in more than 10 years.

The eye of the hurricane is expected to graze Central Florida or possibly make landfall early Friday morning, continuing north, possibly on land, though its track may vary from the current forecasts. Sustained winds are expected to be well over 100mph.

"We have to keep the safety of everyone involved in these events at the forefront of our decision-making," UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Daniel J. White said in a press release today.

The Knights were looking forward to their second American Athletic Conference game after pummeling ECU 47-29 last week.

Luckily for both teams, they both have a bye week on Nov. 5. They'll play the game then, though kickoff time has yet to be determined.
