West Orange High School has a new principal

Matthew Turner, former principal at Westridge Middle School, has been named the newest principal for West Orange High School.

Matthew Turner, former principal at Westridge Middle School, has been named the newest principal for West Orange High School.

He will being working at West Orange with interim principal Wednesday, June 10.

Turner is one of several leadership changes at West Orange schools.

Christy Gorberg, former principal of SunRidge Elementary, will take the helm at Olympia High School. She replaces Guy Swenson, who is leaving to be become principal at 80-H-SW-4, the relief school for Dr. Phillips High. That school, located at 7725 Palm Parkway, Orlando, is scheduled to open in 2021.

Lisa Karcinski is the new principal at Ocoee High School. She replaces Laura Buesse, who is leaving to become principal at 113-H-W-4, the new Horizon West high school at 10393 Seidel Road, Winter Garden. It is scheduled to open in 2021.

Kathleen Marie Ball Phillips is the new principal at Sand Lake Elementary, Robert Lee Walker is the new principal at Citrus Elementary, and Jennifer Cupid-McCoy is the new West Learning Community area superintendent.
