West Orange musical theater programs got plenty of recognition from the 2015-2016 Applause Awards, given by the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

The awards recognize the achievements of music theater performances at Central Florida high schools.

Musical theater programs register to participate in the program, which provides directors with written feedback about performances. At the end of the spring, awards are given to recognize outstanding performances and work.

Dr. Phillips High School, West Orange High School and Windermere Preparatory School were recognized for success in at least one category.

The awards ceremony will be held 6 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016 in the Walt Disney Theater, 445 S. Magnolia Ave., Orlando.
