West Orange voters re-elect Gould, other incumbents

Winners in West Orange County's local races are Randolph Bracy, Val Demings, Pam Gould and Geraldine Thompson.

Incumbent Pam Gould will retain her seat as the Orange County School Board District 4 member.

Gould bested challenger Prince Brown with 59.3% of the vote. According to the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office, Gould received 6,444 votes on Election Day — 25,657 through early voting and 25,444 via mail-in ballots.

Brown earned 4,593 votes on Election Day — 17,404 via early voting and a vote-by-mail total of 17,341 for 40.7% of the vote.

In the race for Florida's 10th Congressional District, incumbent Congresswoman Val Demings also will continue serving constituents. Demings earned more than 63% of the vote, defeating challenger Vennia Francois.

Another incumbent, Sen. Randolph Bracy, will retain his seat representing District 11 in the Florida State Senate. Bracy defeated challenger Joshua Eli Adams with 64.94% of the vote. Adams received 35.06%.

Meanwhile, the race for State Representative District 44 was a close call. Incumbent Rep. Geraldine F. Thompson won with 52.36% of the vote, while challenger Bruno Portigliatti garnered 47.64%.

In other races, Sheriff John Mina was re-elected, and Amy Mercado was officially elected Orange County property appraiser.
