Billie Ruth Austin smiles out at the world in this school picture from 1930. She is the daughter of William N. Denmark and Esther Ruth Walker, a couple who moved to the Beulah community in 1932. Like so many early families, they farmed vegetables and citrus. 

The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation, which seeks to preserve our heritage and architecture while creating new cultural experiences, is celebrating its third decade with the debut of its new History Research and Education Center.
