It's National Donut Day, and you can celebrate all day today by nabbing yourself a free doughnut.

Dunkin’ Donuts, for its part, is offering a free doughnut with the purchase of any beverage, while supplies last. The offer is good all day June 3 at DD restaurants everywhere.

Additionally, Krispy Kreme is giving each customer one free doughnut at participating locations. At Krispy Kreme, guests have the opportunity to donate to The Salvation Army simultaneously. No purchase is necessary to receive a free doughnut.

According to Krispy Kreme's website, National Donut Day is held each year on the first Friday in June and was established by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the organization's “Doughnut Lassies,” 'who served the treats to soldiers during World War I.'
