Fans of White Castle and its small, slider burgers have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks as the restaurant — located in The Village at O-Town West mixed-use development — will open Monday, May 3.
The family-owned business — which was founded in 1921 — will have a ribbon cutting that morning, and is the first White Castle to be built in Florida since the 1960s. And it won't be just any old restaurant: It's being labeled "The Orlando Castle," and will stand as the largest free-standing White Castle in the world, according to a press release sent out by the company.
The new White Castle will have take-out, dine-in and drive-through services from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. during its opening day, and then reopen on Tuesday with normal-operating hours — 9 a.m. to 1 a.m., seven days a week. The company said it will eventually operate 24 hours a day sometime in the future.
