The town of Windermere has canceled its Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast.

Town leaders made the decision at the Tuesday, June 23, Town Council Workshop.

"Due to the rapidly rising number of COVID-19 cases in Orange County, along with logistical difficulties surrounding proper social distancing and accommodation (especially when we considered that this was going to be one of the only events happening on July 4th in the area), the consensus among Mayor O’Brien and Town Council was to cancel this year’s event," the town announced on social media.

"We are all very disappointed in the circumstances surrounding this decision," official said. "We know how much everyone was looking forward to this event, but our first priority will always be the health and safety of Windermere."
