Windermere Prep falls to Winter Park in tourney final, 54-45

WINDERMERE — The Windermere Prep Lakers could not overcome scoring a combined 12 points in the second and third quarter on Tuesday night and fell to Winter Park in the championship of The Rock Holiday Classic, 54-45.

The Lakers (9-6) led 15-4 after one quarter of play but were outscored 50-30 the rest of the way as the Wildcats’ defense proved quite an obstacle. 

Winter Park (11-3) was led by Wyatt Wilkes’ 16 points, complimented nicely by 12 points from senior point guard Elijah Farley and another 11 from Kevin Buckley.

Windermere Prep was led by Parker Davis’ 14 points and 12 points from Michael Stones.

The Lakers will enjoy a few days of rest before returning to action on Jan. 3 when they travel to take on Providence (Jacksonville) at 6 p.m.
