Windermere Prep hosting bed build event

Windermere Preparatory School is partnering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace for a bed-building event to benefit local children in need.

The bed-building event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Windermere Prep; 6189 Winter Garden Vineland Road, Windermere. More than 100 volunteers — including high school students, families and faculty from Windermere Prep — are expected to come together at the event to help local children and families in need. Additional volunteers also are welcome. 

The Sleep in Heavenly Peace charity is a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to building and providing beds to children in need. SHP estimates that more than 2.2 million children across the country sleep on the floor each night, and the organization aims to provide a solution to that problem. There are more than 173 SHP chapters across 46 states and two countries.
