Windermere Town Council will convene its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. this evening, Oct. 12, at Town Hall, 520 Main St.

Among the topics on the agenda is the boathouse lease agreements. Richard C. Dreggors, GAA, of Calhoun, Dreggors & Associates Inc., will give a fair-market rent presentation.

Located west of Main Street in Palmer Park, the five boathouses are estimated to be more than 100 years old. The question of ownership has been debated for years, with the town lacking ownership documentation and occupants only possessing quit-claim deeds, which only transfer title to a grantee.

Progress was made at the Aug. 10 Town Council meeting, when a motion was passed to extend leases on a month-to-month basis with a 30-day notice of termination. Tonight's meeting will be another step in solving the issue.
