WEST ORANGE COUNTY  Florida Highway Patrol officials have announced an update Jan. 4 to a fatal Dec. 27 crash of an automobile into a pedestrian on North Pine Hills Road in Pine Hills.

The vehicle contained three Windermere residents, none of which reported any injury: Sonny Jo Riley, 34; Richard Lee Hopkins, 36; and driver Christopher Blake Parker, 35.

Lucien J. Pierre, 75, of Orlando, walked west along the sidewalk into the path of the automobile, which was traveling north in the inside lane. Parker drove the vehicle to a stop at the shoulder of White Heron Drive.

"Immediately after the initial impact to Mr. Pierre, he was subsequently struck by several other vehicles that left the scene," FHP Trooper Wanda Diaz said in the update. "We are asking that if anybody observed anything pertaining to this crash that they contact the Florida Highway Patrol at (407) 737-2200. Your assistance in decimating this request would be greatly appreciated."

Charges are pending. No further information is available at press time.
