A Winter Garden church is doing its best to help those in need for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Orlando Faith Ministries will be giving out cooked meals on Wednesday, Nov. 24, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The meals will all be free and include chicken, potatoes, green beans, dinner rolls and more. Pastor Denise Johnson with Orlando Faith Ministries said the church plans to hand out about 200 meals.

"We know there is a need right now and many people are hurting so we want to reach out and help our community," Johnson said. "God helped lead the way and we try to be a very giving and loving church."

The church will also offer drive-through prayers during this time.

Johnson said all of this would not be possible without her husband, a senior pastor, and the rest of the church volunteers.

The event is drive-through or walk-through only in order to limit contact and maintain safety measures among the ongoing pandemic.

The church can be found at 4435 Old Winter Garden Road.
