Winter Garden City Commission to meet tonight

The City Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at the City Hall Commission Chambers.

The Winter Garden City Commission will hold a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at the City Hall Commission Chambers, 300 W. Plant St. 

Commissioners will first hear the first reading of a proposed ordinance relating to a temporary moratorium on the acceptance, processing and consideration of applications for development orders, building permits, and zoning clearance approvals involving uses of business selling alcoholic beverages within the city of Winter Garden historic downtown district. 

The other first reading will discuss rezoning property for The First Baptist Church Winter Garden Child Care PCD. 

The city commission will then hear the second reading and public hearing of proposed ordinances relating to municipal elections, water and wastewater systems, and the expansion of the Orange County Lake Roberts municipal service benefit unit.

Regular business items include recommendation to approve purchase of replacement police K-9, a site plan for 308 E. Bay St., an assignment of drainage easements from Orange County to the city of Winter Garden, a West Orange Trail utility easement and the waiving of the formal procurement process and award purchase order to Dale Beasley Construction for SR-50 manhole repair.
