Winter Garden City Commission to meet tonight

The City Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the City Hall Commission Chambers.

The Winter Garden City Commission will hold a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the City Hall Commission Chambers, 300 W. Plant St. 

Commissioners will first hear the second reading of a proposed ordinance relating to a temporary moratorium on the acceptance, processing and consideration of applications for development orders, building permits, and zoning clearance approvals involving uses of business selling alcoholic beverages within the city of Winter Garden historic downtown district. 

The other second reading will discuss rezoning property for The First Baptist Church Winter Garden Child Care PCD. 

Regular business items include recommendation to approve construction of a temporary Fire Station 21, at a cost not to exceed $125,000 plus $1,440 monthly rent for the building, as well as two board appointments.
