Winter Garden City Commission to meet tonight

The City Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at the City Hall Commission Chambers.

The Winter Garden City Commission will hold a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at the City Hall Commission Chambers, 300 W. Plant St. 

Commissioners will first hear the first reading of an ordinance to amend Chapter 118 in the City of Winter Garden Code of Ordinances to add a new article entitled "Downtown Residential Overlay District." The article will place size restrictions on residential buildings within the downtown residential district overlay district including lot coverage and floor area ratio limitations. 

Regular business items include the discussion of a revised rate schedule for residential and commercial solid waste services, a new dispatch and records management system from 365 Labs, the annual Oktoberfest special event by Crooked Can Brewery, the Health & Harvest Festival special event, and a board appointment for the Planning and Zoning Board.
