City commissioners will consider approving the site plan regarding property at 670 Garden Commerce Parkway and two road-project bids.
WINTER GARDEN — City leaders will consider the approval of the second reading of an ordinance that would carry over appropriation funds to the current fiscal year budget at the Winter Garden City Commission meeting Thursday evening.
If approved, ordinance 18-04 would amend the current year’s budget to carry forward appropriations from the city's budget last year. The funds would go toward projects, machinery, equipment and other items that were budgeted but not purchased during the fiscal year ending in 2017. The sum of the monies being carried over is $28,428,329, according to the agenda.
Commissioners also will consider the first reading of two rezoning ordinances.
Ordinance 18-17 seeks to rezone a 0.625-acre parcel located at 227 S. Main St. from city R-2 residential district to city R-NC residential neighborhood commercial district. Ordinance 18-19 seeks to rezone a 4-acre parcel generally located at 2001 Avalon Road from Planned Unit Development (PUD) to Planned Commercial Development (PCD).
If approved on first reading, both ordinances will be considered for their second readings during the April 26 commission meeting.
Under regular business, commissioners will consider approval of a site plan pertaining to property located at 670 Garden Commerce Parkway. The applicant seeks to construct a single-story, 8,594 square-foot warehouse building.
Commissioners also will consider approving a proposal from Connected Workplace Solutions to upgrade the city’s Cisco Phone System for $102,605.02. Connected Workplace Solutions would provide the licensing, software and hardware necessary to complete the upgrade.
Also on the agenda are staff recommendations to award several bids, including a contract to T.D. Thomson Construction Company for the Tremaine Street Bricking project for a price not to exceed $71,714.50, which includes a 10% contingency.
Commissioners will then decide on a bid proposal from Tetra Tech for professional engineering and construction administration services for the western storage and pumping facility project for $133,225.33.
After that, commissioners will consider a recommendation to approve a change order the L7 Construction to furnish and install a third disk filter at the Crest Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant. The current contract with L7 Construction provides from two disk filters at the water treatment plant, and the change order would add a third filter. Cost of the third filter is not to exceed $324,800, and the total cost of the project is $1,510,604.
Lastly, commissioners will consider awarding a contract to Atlantic Civil Constructors Corporation for the Stoneybrook West Parkway/Roberson Road/Windermere Road roundabout project in the amount of $2,391,996.85, which includes 10% contingency.
