Olszewski OC D1 File-WEB

Winter Garden City Commissioner Robert “Bobby” Olszewski has filed to run for Orange County Commission District 1.

“Orange County District 1 deserves genuine leadership as together we place the residents and community first in Bay Lake, Dr. Phillips, Gotha, Horizon West, Hunter’s Creek, Lake Buena Vista, MetroWest, Oakland, Ocoee, Orlando, Tildenville, Williamsburg, Windermere and Winter Garden," he said.

Olszewski previously was elected to two terms as a Winter Garden commissioner. He was first elected by defeating the incumbent in a three-way race by 70% and later won his second term without opposition. He believes his experience in Winter Garden will serve him well at the county level.

“In Orange County growth is inevitable, but how you manage that growth is critical," he said. "Look at all of the great things we have accomplished in Winter Garden with smart growth.”

Olszewski has lived in Orange County District 1 since 1980. He has been involved in numerous organizations, including the Orange County Community Action Board, MetroPlan Orlando Municipal Advisory Committee, MetroPlan Orlando Regional Leadership Council, Roper YMCA Family Center Board, Roper YMCA Scholarship Campaign, Florida League of Cities and many more.

He earned a doctoral degree in business administration from Northcentral University and holds master’s degrees in management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and corporate communication and technology from Rollins College. Olszewski is a product of Orange County Public Schools and graduated from Dr. Phillips High School.
