Winter Garden city leaders held a special City Commission meeting Monday, Aug. 2, to discuss revisions to a purchase and sale agreement between the city and Stoneybrook West HOA.

The agreement allows the city to convey the property to the HOA, which then plans to enter into a lease agreement with Kemper Sports to refurbish and operate the golf course.

Commissioners approved the original agreement at their July 22 meeting. However, Stoneybrook West HOA President Dennis Armstrong said, the HOA had some concerns with it.

"There were some things in there that we weren't exactly pleased with, and some changes that we thoguht would be beneficial both to our residents and to the city," Armstrong said. "We actually talked those over with our attorney on Friday (July 30), and I submitted a list to (City Manager) Mike (Bollhoefer) and (City Attorney) Kurt Ardaman on Monday morning first thing ... I guess there were about 15 items altogether."

Armstrong said some of the concerns were as simple as a wrong ZIP code while others were more technical. He said city staff then scheduled the special City Commission meeting for Monday, Aug. 2, to discuss the concerns and have revisions approved. The revised document passed unanimously.

The Stoneybrook West HOA board of directors will vote later this week to approve the revised contract themselves.
