A week after claiming the District 14 title, the Winter Garden Little League's 11U All-Star team swept through sectional play in St. Cloud to win the Section 5 title — catapulting it to the state tournament.

The 11U team kicked off sectionals with a close 8-6 win over Lake Mary, before blanking Delaney Park 15-0 to seal up a spot at states.

Leading up to sectional play, the 11s worked its way through the District 14 tourney, where it squeezed out a close 6-4 win over Dr. Phillips, before taking a high-scoring 14-12 win over Windermere in the semis.

With an undefeated record going into the district championship game it would take two wins from Windermere to sink the 11U team's chances at sectional play — which luckily for the 11U team, wasn't the case. Though they would fall 12-6 in the game on Tuesday, June 25, WGLL would rally back in the final game with a 7-4 win over Windermere the following night.

Now the 11U team will travel to Northport next weekend — July 12-14 — to take on the best 11U All-Star teams in the state.
