Winter Garden to host rental assistance workshop

The city of Winter Garden will host free a Rental Assistance Application Workshop to Avoid Eviction from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Winter Garden City Hall, 300 W. Plant St., Winter Garden.

Anyone who is behind or struggling to pay rent because of the financial impact of COVID-19 should attend this workshop for help in completing the application process for rental assistance.

Eligibility for assistance:
• Rent your home, apartment or other residential dwelling in Florida.

• Household income does not exceed 80% AMI (see below).

• Have qualified for unemployment, experienced a loss of income and incurred significant costs or financial hardships because of COVID-19.

• At risk of losing your home, experiencing housing instability, or are living in unsafe or unhealthy conditions.

One person: $42,750

Two people: $48,850

Three people: $54,950

Four people: $61,050

Five people: $65,950

Six people: $70,850

This workshop will be hosted by Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida. Advance reservations are not required; masks will be required indoors.
