The city of Winter Garden is creating more parking spaces in the downtown area. The North Boyd Street parking lot project will begin Monday, Jan. 31, on two city-owned parcels at 37 N. Boyd and 63 N. Boyd.

The project will include the construction of an asphalt parking lot — providing a total of 124 spaces — with associated drainage, landscaping, irrigation and lighting improvements. The project will also include the installation of a bicycle repair shelter at the southwest corner of the parking lot.

The lot at 63 N. Boyd will close starting Feb. 7 and remain closed until the new parking lot is constructed. Anticipated completion date is mid-May.

Normal working hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday — with the exception of any necessary emergency work.

The city will provide the contractor a route for material and equipment delivery trucks with the intent of minimizing the impacts to residents and the operation of surrounding businesses.

For information regarding the project, call Winter Garden City Hall at (407) 656-4111.
