The Winter Park City Commission will consider purchasing 0.83 acres of land adjacent to the Howell Branch Preserve at its Monday meeting — opening up an opportunity to add more passive park space and trail connectivity within the city.

A parcel of land at 2917 Temple Trail currently has a 1,853-square-foot house on the site, but that structure would be demolished if the sale goes through to make way for the added park space. A creek bed currently runs through the land, which connects two major pieces of the Howell Branch Preserve.

The city would be paying $318,000 for the land under the current contract.
