Winter Park City Commissioners will discuss their proposed 2018 legislative priorities at today’s meeting, including some major projects and efforts the city hopes to receive funding for.

At the top of the city’s proposed funding list is support funding of a public library construction grant program, which would help pay for the upcoming project for a new library/event center in Winter Park.

The wish list also includes hurricane hardening funds, funding for a broadband pilot project, and funding to expedite a quiet zone project for the city’s railroad intersections.

Winter Park has also laid out a few stances on legislative matters, including opposing a bill that eliminates a city’s right to regulate trees.
