Feb. 9 City Commission meeting

There will be a City Commission meeting Monday, Feb. 9, at 3:30 p.m. in City Hall Commission Chambers located at 401 S. Park Ave. For the most up-to-date agenda, please visit cityofwinterpark.org under What’s New. Below are a few topics of interest:

• Approve the minutes for Jan. 26, 2015.

• Cancel the Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2015, due to the Memorial Day holiday.

Public Hearings

• Request of Unicorp National Developments, Inc.:

Conditional use approval to redevelop the former Mt. Vernon Inn property with a project to be called Lakeside Crossing of approximately 37,473 square feet of retail and restaurant space including a two-level parking deck and surface parking of approximately 317 spaces on the property at 110 S. Orlando Ave.

A Valentine concert in Central Park

On Sunday, Feb. 8, the Park Avenue Merchants Association will host The Sweetest Sounds: A Valentine Concert in Central Park. From 4 to 6:30 p.m., attendees will be able to enjoy an afternoon of music and romance. In honor of the Bach Festival Society’s 80th annual Bach Festival, members of the Bach Festival Choir will join Michael Andrew and Swingerhead for a first-of-its-kind performance.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic basket, spread a blanket and enjoy these sweet sounds with your sweetheart at this free event. For additional information, please contact visit experienceparkavenue.com or call 407-644-8281.

State of the City Address now online

Market 2 Park

This Thursday, Feb. 5, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., and every first Thursday of the month, fresh produce is available at the city’s mobile farmers’ market, market2park. Market 2 Park is also held on the first Tuesday of each month during lunch, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Whether you are on your lunch break or on your way home, you can easily access fresh vegetables to serve a fresh and healthy dinner. The Market 2 Park program was started with a grant from Healthy Central Florida with the intent to increase access to fresh vegetables in our community.
