CRA BOARD MEETING

There will be a Community Redevelopment Agency Board meeting on Monday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m., in City Hall Commission Chambers to discuss the CRA FY2011 budget.

SEPT 13 CITY COMMISSION MEETING TOPICS OF INTEREST

There will be a City Commission meeting on Monday, Sept. 13, at 3:30 p.m., in City Hall Commission Chambers. Below are a few topics of interest:

MAYOR’S REPORT:

  • Presentation of Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival poster by Suzanne Woodward.

  • 4th Quarter 2010 90-day action plan

CONSENT AGENDA:

  • Approve the minutes of Aug. 23

  • Approve the renewal of the line of credit with SunTrust for electric operations.

  • Approve PR# 145189 to Reynolds Inliner, LLC, for sanitary sewer main rehabilitation lining, piggybacking St. Petersburg contract # 06041-111; $76,632.

  • Reappoint City Manager Randy Knight and Planning Director Jeff Briggs to the South Seminole & North Orange County Wastewater Transmission Authority.

  • Approve the budget adjustment for clearing neglected lots of overgrowth in the amount of $20,000 for the Code Enforcement Division.

  • Approve the budget adjustment for EMS operations to purchase supplies in the amount of $5,000 for the Fire-Rescue Department.

  • Request to suspend the current animal ordinance to allow the “Dog On It” event in the Cady Way softball field.

ACTION ITEMS REQUIRING DISCUSSION:

  • Approve the first amendment to amended Interlocal Agreement for Public School Facility Planning and Implementation of Concurrency.

  • Approve the purchase of the vacant lot at 2225 Howard Drive.

  • Request for temporary, three-month Art on the Green exhibition to celebrate the completion of the Central Park renovation project.

  • Recommended revisions to the National Register of Historic Places nomination for downtown Winter Park from the Florida Bureau of Historic Preservation.

  • RFQ 23-2010 golf pro shop continuation.

BUDGET PUBLIC HEARINGS (to be held at 5:01 p.m.):

  • First reading of the ordinance to adopt the millage rate.

  • First reading of the ordinance to adopt the FY 2011 annual budget.

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

  • First reading of the ordinance amending the Comprehensive Plan. - Capital Improvements Element to adopt the FY2011-FY2015 Capital Improvements Plan.

  • Final conditional use approval - Request of Rollins College and Novasol Energy: Including modifications to the preliminary conditional use approval granted on Dec. 14, 2009, to increase the height and decrease the side setbacks for the installation of solar panels on a portion of the top deck of the parking garage of the SunTrust Building at 400 S. Park Ave.

  • Second reading of the ordinance implementing requirements for inactive construction sites; electronic submission of building plans with related fees and membership criteria for the Construction Board of Adjustment & Appeals.

  • Adopting the fee schedule effective Friday, Oct. 1.

  • First reading of the ordinance regarding water and sewer impact fees.

CURIOUS ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION ON GENERAL REESE?

The construction work on General Reese entails reconstructing the roadway limits from Corrine Drive to Glenridge Way with a new stormwater drainage collection and conveyance system (pipes, curbs, inlets), narrower travel lanes, bicycle lanes, a new concrete sidewalk on the west side of the road, and replacement of road base material. The project has an expected completion date of Wednesday, Nov. 17, weather permitting.

FAIRBANKS AVENUE INFORMATIONAL MEETING

The City of Winter Park will hold an informational meeting about the Fairbanks Avenue Wastewater Utility & Roadway Improvements project on Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 6-8 p.m., at the Rachel D. Murrah Civic Center, 1050 W. Morse Blvd.

The project limits are along Fairbanks Avenue from Interstate 4 to U.S. Highway 17-92 with sewer system improvements continuing along the Wymore Road Corridor from the Fairbanks Avenue/Cambridge Boulevard intersection to approximately 2,000 feet north of Lee Road.

Improvements such as raised medians, street lighting and pedestrian crossings are all components of this plan. Construction is planned to start summer 2011. If you are unable to attend, share your comments via e-mail [email protected] or by calling 407-599-3233.
