April 24 City Commission meeting highlights

Mayor’s Report                                                                                  

The 2017 Historic Preservation Board awards were presented.

City Manager’s Report                                                                        

A preview of “We Are Winter Park,” was presented. Through colorful stories and picturesque videography, learn about why the City of Winter Park is a place to live, learn, work and love from the many hearts and lives of those around us.  We are Winter Park can be found on the homepage of cityofwinterpark.org, and on the city’s official Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo and YouTube accounts.

Consent Agenda                                                                                 

The minutes of April 10, 2017, were approved.

The purchases, contracts, and formal solicitations were approved (for a complete list, please visit cityofwinterpark.org/ccpackets).

Staff was authorized to sell the property located at 1111 W. Fairbanks Ave. minus the land needed for additional roadway right-of-way along Fairbanks Avenue.

The HuntonBrady Architects agreement was approved, with such changes as may be required upon the final review and approval by the City Attorney.

The FY 2017 budget amendments for Water & Sewer, CRA, Capital Fund and Building Department, were approved.

Action Items Requiring Discussion

The 301 W. Comstock Ave. Notice of Disposal offers were not accepted, with the property still remaining city owned.

The Community Paramedicine Program was approved.

Public Hearings                                                                                 

The second reading of the ordinance relating to Communications Facilities was approved.

The resolution approving a Party Membership Agreement and its incorporated interlocal agreement, in order to join the Florida Resiliency and energy District’s Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program was approved.

The request of Deshpande, Inc. to divide the properties at 839/841/851 W. Canton Ave. into four, single-family lots, was approved.

The first reading of the ordinance authorizing a revolving line of credit not to exceed $8,000,000 with SunTrust Bank or an affiliate to finance working capital needs of the city’s electric utility system and to pay the costs of such line of credit, was approved.

The ordinance amending the Comprehensive Plan and Chapter 58, ”Land  Development  Code”,  Article  I,  ”Comprehensive  Plan”  to adopt  a  new  City  of  Winter  Park  Comprehensive  Plan,  Goals, Objectives and Policies  document, substituting for the current 2009 Comprehensive Plan adopted on February 23, 2009, was approved with amendments.
