Winter Park home catches fire, three residents transported to hospital

A home along Mare Bello Drive near Aloma Avenue went up in flames this morning.

Three Winter Park residents were transported to Winter Park Memorial Hospital this morning after their house along Mare Bello Drive near Aloma Avenue went up in flames.

Orange County Fire Rescue responded to the fire at 6:18 a.m. this morning, putting out the flames and tending to three occupants who escaped the home, Orange County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Kat Kennedy said.

Two of the resident are being treated for smoke inhalation and the third is being treated for both minor burns and smoke inhalation.

The source of the fire is unknown, but the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause, Kennedy said.
