After redshirting for the 2015 season — his first on campus in Oxford, Ms. — West Orange High alum Jalen Julius seems poised to make an impact at Ole Miss this fall.

A recent article in the The Clarion-Ledger suggested the former standout wide receiver for the Warriors may see the field this fall, possibly as a punt returner, and that the depth chart favors him becoming a starter next season — if not sooner.

While at Ole Miss, Julius has switched to playing cornerback full-time and OleMissSports.com lists Julius as a second-string cornerback entering the beginning of the regular season, noting that the redshirt freshman "looked like a completely different player in the spring after redshirting" and "has quick feed and good speed."

"It's my second year fully at corner so I feel more comfortable with my technique and everything," Julius told The Clarion-Ledger.

The regular season opener for Ole Miss will be a homecoming for Julius. The Rebels will face Florida State at Camping World Stadium in Orlando at 7 p.m. Sept. 5. That contest will air nationally on ESPN.
