WOHS students start AP Ambassadors club

Students at West Orange High School are coming together to support each other in stressful times. 

WOHS students Trenton Campbell and Brooke Park recently started the new AP Ambassadors club at the school. 

The club, which started this month, aims to provide students with support, encouragement, leadership and confidence in their abilities to take college level classes, perform well on standardized tests, and apply to college. 

Campbell and Park, the co-presidents of the club, said as students, they understand how important it is for everyone to find the right college for them and to help their fellow classmates find the right academic path. 

"We have taken so many AP classes and dual enrollment classes and want to help spread knowledge on how to better prepare for these big decisions coming up," Campbell said. "Our main goal is to not only help West Orange students, but to ensure we dedicate our prior experiences to help build other student's confidence on their abilities in school."

The AP Ambassadors club accomplishes these goals by encouraging students to take the SAT and ACT, providing resources such as studying techniques and preparation book suggestions, hosting meetings with guest speakers for tips on how to be successful, helping students make college lists, and much more. 

Campbell and Park said they plan to host book drives, informational nights, and even speak at middle schools to help talk about the importance of taking the right classes and working hard in school. 

"Helping students become the best they can be is truly rewarding because it lets you know that working together can help create an impactful influence," Campbell and Park said.
