First National Bank hosts Haiti supply drive at all six locations; marathon women raise big bucks for children's hospital; Enzian receives generous grant for its film festival

Winter Park-based community bank, First National Bank of Central Florida, will host a Haiti Relief supply drive the week of Jan. 25. The bank will be collecting medical, personal-care and food items for shipment to Haiti. Donations can be made at any of their six locations throughout Central Florida. A New Year's Resolution to run Walt Disney World's half marathon turned into a life changing experience for 17 women and a fundraiser for Florida Hospital for Children. The women, recruited by Samantha O'Lenick, Executive Director of Media and Community Relations for Florida Hospital, call themselves F.I.T or Females In Training. Bright House Networks customers now have even more control of their TV schedules with the introduction of Start Over, an exclusive enhanced TV feature that allows viewers to re-start a live program from the beginning anytime during its scheduled broadcast. In order to use Start Over, customers simply press the select button on their remote control either when the Start Over prompt appears on the screen or at any time during the scheduled broadcast.

The National Endowment for the Arts announced Enzian, celebrating its 25th year, as a recipient of its 2010 Grant Award for Access to Artistic Excellence in the Media Arts Category. As one of only two organizations in Florida to receive this distinction, Enzian was awarded $10,000 for its program, the 19th annual Florida Film Festival.

Barnie's Coffee & Tea Company is donating all proceeds from its Haitian Bleu Coffee to World Vision International to provide assistance during this crisis. The Haitian 2009 crop was severely damaged by hurricanes in 2008. Once the limited supply is gone, Barnie's will not be able to source anymore Haitian Bleu until the coffee plants recuperate from the hurricane damage.
