The Bach Festival Society of Winter Park announced that the Fred Rogers Family Series will not be scheduled on its 2010-2011 season. The Society has developed a partnership with the quartet Brooklyn Rider, A Gift for Music, and Orange County Public Schools to create a unique music residency, bringing high-quality classical music to nearly 700 young music students this year. JPMorgan Chase presented two refrigerated trucks to Second Harvest Food Bank. JPMorgan Chase will also cover the operating costs for the new trucks during the first year. The food bank will now distribute large volumes of nutritional product to local food pantries, soup kitchens or other agencies, which serve more than 55,000 Central Floridians each week.

EA Tiburon renovated a game lounge at the Kissimmee nonprofit Give Kids The World Village (GKTW). The popular Orlando game developer worked with GKTW to transition the village's existing Amberville Game Rooms into a cool, comfortable entertainment lounge featuring arcade games, theater and bar style seating, and service areas with a backdrop of high-energy graphics.

The Audubon Park Garden District won numerous "Best of" categories in this year's Orlando Weekly Best of Orlando poll. First place winners include Big Daddy's for Best Karaoke, Juniors Diner for Best Diner, Bold Hype for Best Gallery. Stardust Video and Coffee scored first place wins for both Best Coffeehouse and Best DVD Store. Redlight Redlight won Best Dive Bar and landed Third Place for Best Pub.

The governor has signed Executive Order 10-170, providing for the extension of additional unemployment benefits within the 99 benefit weeks for Floridians who have exhausted Tiers 1 through 4 in light of recent passed federal legislation. The extended benefits will run through Nov. 20 instead of the original ending date of June 5.
