Tied at the top

The Central Florida Kraze are on top of their division in their league after battling to a double shutout with their archrival on Saturday.

Wesley Giachetti's quick hands and at one point his face helped keep the ball out of the goal against Bradenton. He took 12 shots and kept them all out of the net.

The Kraze had 19 shots in the game, but none of them managed to penetrate the Bradenton Athletics' net. The closest the Kraze would come to a goal was a late shot that was called back due to offsides, and a header by Matt McFarland that struck the underside of the crossbar and bounced out.

The game would end in the Kraze's first 0-0 stalemate of the year, but gave them a valuable point in the United Soccer Leagues' Premier Development League Southeast Division chase.

After the draw, the Kraze are in a three-way tie for the top. Five games into the season, the Kraze are undefeated at 3-0-2, and heading to their rival's home field at press time Wednesday.

Tuesday they'll head to Miami for their bid in the U.S. Open Cup. They'll be one of only 8 PDL teams to make it to the tournament.

They'll face Bradenton in a rematch June 24 at Showalter Field in Winter Park.
