Okay, I’m taking a slightly different take than last night . . . . WHAT is currently THE most predictable aspect of Central Florida / Winter Park? The weather! Each and every day at right about the same time: Boom! Storms and two Boxers attached to my ankles, one lying nearby wondering what’s up with both of them. The plants are VERY happy.

I did not make it in for my Galopin interview today, but I’m still hopeful a the full scoop for the paper this coming week. One more quick shot I got from yesterday . . . . as I said, that upstairs is going to be amazing: THIS will definitely be a great space for just hanging out. Not sure if there will be TV screens or what, but for a BIG group, I can think of no place it would compare to.

While I was eating lunch today I was looking through an Orlando Home & Leisure magazine, and specifically at a story entitled, “Central Florida’s OTHER Social Calendar” detailing the “hippest happenings” in the region. I was struck by the TWO monthly events which occur each and every month in Sanford, the Sanford Art Walk and the Alive After 5 events. I’ve been there for them and they are great . . . . got me to Sanford when I would not have been there otherwise. Baldwin Park is now doing a Baldwin Park 1st Friday Festival & Art Stroll and Ivanhoe Village has a similar event. Well, I’m officially offering to assist – with all my extra time – for any event College Park, Winter Park or Hannibal Square in Winter Park would like to launch. I LUV these events and I am also now committing to help both Baldwin Park group and Ivanhoe Village group publicize their’s. These events are just the sorts of things Locals look forward to each month, but, as me in Sanford, truly do get other individuals to come into town without the requirement that Local businesses massively mark themselves down, as the “deal” sites I often reference – as well as Sidewalk Sales, etc. – require. FUN is often the best deal of all! For Baldwin Park & Ivanhoe Village, contact me at [email protected] and we’ll discuss how I can help. I do have some specific ideas . . . surprise, surprise.

REMINDER . . . I’m looking for your input on Local ‘Parkpreneurs’ YOU appreciate! Hey, I’ve already spotted three I’d like to spotlight this week . . . but I’m REALLY LOOKING FOR YOU!!!! Come on, provide some input! Message me on my facebook page or e-mail me at [email protected].

This week we attempt to take Totally LOCAL Tuesday week to week! Oy. I’m both excited about helping PROMOTE Local business and already a bit exhausted. JOIN IN. TELL YOUR FRIENDS. This, ultimately, is about telling businesses we’re doing it and then having them promote it to their own customers . . . it’s a snowball in Central Florida we want to roll down a hill and have it get bigger and Bigger and BIGGER, not melt. Easy, right?! Will be IF lots of us work together.

I’m not going to say a lot about this . . . but just in case the correct individual sees this . . . thank you so much for signing me up for what so far looks to be a hundred magazine subscriptions. I talked to the post office and I’m marking all of them “refused” and returning them. It’s a minimal hassle for me, but it’s a BIG waste of time for others, and for my poor mailman, in the Central Florida heat, it means heaving them now both to and fro . . . as he’s requested that I not drop them off at the post office, since they simply send them back to him before returning. It’s also meant – via whatever means you used – that a number of small businesses are wasting their precious funds to send me materials I never requested. What a wonderful gesture.

Short tonight . . . already time for ‘Give A Dog A Home’! Tonight I think this is the first Pug I’ve spotlighted! This is Bennie . . . he’s so cute! Holy bricks and Spanish moss, Pugs are just adorable! He is looking for his forever home! Bennie is 13 years young and a real cuddle bug! He just wants your LUV! Find Bennie and other Local Pugs available on both Central Florida Pug Rescue website and facebook page!
