What do you do with your children after school when Timmy wants to take tennis lessons, Molly wants to sing and act, and Johnny wants to play basketball?
You send them to the Roth Jewish Community Center’s J University after-school program!
What’s unique about the JCC’s J University program is that children can build their own customized after-school schedule based around their individualized interests – and all of it is available under one roof, in the heart of Maitland. The JCC welcomes children of all faiths.
Each day after school, the JCC sends buses to pick up children from the following local schools: Dommerich, Lake Sybelia, Lake Highland, Audubon Park, Brookshire, Park Maitland, Bear Lake, Wilson and Heathrow.
Then, parents pick up their children at the end of the day by 6 p.m.
Classes offered include Actor’s Studio, Tennis Academy, Karate, Building Blocks of Art, Soccer Skills, Junior Achievement, Rookie Basketball, Mad Science, Stage Stars, Indoor Soccer, Gymnastics, Creative Cooking, Silly Science, 10 & Under Tennis and Perfect Painters.
To learn more about J University, contact Abby Paulson, Youth & Camp director, at [email protected] or 407-645-5933.
If you’re a golfer, please join us at our annual Golf Classic, supporting the JCC’s Marvin Friedman Scholarship Fund on Sunday, Sept. 9, at 8:30 a.m. at Rosen Shingle Creek. On the same day, a Beginners’ Golf Outing for ladies will be hosted as well at Rosen Shingle Creek Golf Club.
These are just a few of the things we have going on now at the JCC, but we have a number of incredible programs that run year-round, like our Early Childhood Learning Center (infants through Pre-K), Fitness Center, teen and men’s basketball leagues, J University after-school programs (which picks up from local schools), weekly senior activities, personal training, group exercise classes, mommy and me classes, and more.
Amy Schwartz is the marketing director of the Roth Jewish Community Center. The JCC welcomes people of all faiths. For more information, visit orlandojcc.org or call 407-645-5933.
