October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Roth JCC invites you to come out and mark the month with a workout. On Sunday, Oct. 21, the Roth JCC will host “fitTATA,” a morning of fitness in support of breast cancer research.

The event, which begins at 9 a.m. and runs until noon, will feature a selection of different group exercise classes. The suggested minimum donation is $18, which is a number in Judaism that symbolizes “life.” All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Participants can choose to attend anywhere from one to three classes, which include fun versions of Zumba dance, cycling, strength training/aerobics and yoga:

9 a.m.: “Zum-bra” or “Bike or Bust!”

10 a.m.: “Pump Them Up” or “Bike or Bust!”

11 a.m.: “Pink Yoga” or “Bike or Bust!”

“When you're a participant in the JCC event fitTATA… you're not only supporting a great cause, but you're going to get a great workout!” said René Nicholson, the JCC’s fitness director and coordinator of the event.

Like the JCC itself, fitTATA is open to the community – whether or not you are a JCC member or Jewish.

Babysitting will be available in the JCC’s KidZone upon request.

Pre-registration is requested due to limited capacity in the classes. To register, visit the Roth JCC at 851 N. Maitland Ave. The first 30 participants to register will receive a free event T-shirt. For more information, contact René Nicholson at [email protected] or at 407-645-5933.
