Got weird garbage?

The city of Winter Park is pleased to announce the 2013 Fall Cleanup during the month of November is just in time for the holiday season. This large-item pickup service will provide a ‘bonus’ day on which Waste Pro, the city’s solid waste service provider, will pick up old furniture, broken appliances and other bulky items. If you live north of the Fairbanks/Aloma Avenues corridor, your bonus pick-up day will be Thursday, Nov. 7, or Friday, Nov. 8. If you live south of the Fairbanks/Aloma Avenues corridor, your bonus pick-up day will be Thursday, Nov. 14, or Friday, Nov. 15.

Fill the boot

Maitland Professional Fire Fighters Local 3590 will be “Filling the Boot” for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Nov. 10 and 17 at the Publix Super Market at Maitland Place located at 242 N. Orlando Ave., to help kids with medical equipment and to send them to camp.
