It’s a roaring ’20s party at Mercedes Benz of Orlando in Maitland. The doors open at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2 for a dressy costume party, casino games, and no limit blackjack tournament. Central Florida Sunshine Flutes’ Flute Choir Concert is at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, at Redeemer Lutheran Church Sanctuary, 3377 Aloma Ave., Winter Park, with a selection of flute choir music including “Fanfare for a New Beginning,” “Malaguena,” “America the Beautiful” and others. Maitland Professional Fire Fighters Local 3590 will be “Filling the Boot” for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Nov. 3, 10 and 17 at the Publix Super Market at Maitland Place located at 242 N. Orlando Ave. Funds will help support MDA clinics at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando and Shands Hospital in Gainesville, as well as support the vital research trials taking place there. They also send local children with muscle diseases to MDA summer camp at Camp Thunderbird in Apopka for a week of barrier-free and lighthearted fun with other kids who are just like them, and assist with repairs of wheelchairs, leg braces and other durable medical equipment.
