APRIL 4

Date Night at Leu Gardens for April features the thriller “Gravity” on April 4. Come early and enjoy a stroll in the 50-acre garden before the movie. Leu Gardens opens at 6 p.m. and “Gravity” starts at 8:30 p.m.

The CFCArts String Orchestra will present Baroque to Beatles. This classical style concert on Friday, April 4, will take the audience on a journey that will vary from the Baroque era all the way to the twentieth century and the music of the Beatles. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 4, at Central Christian Church, 250 S.W. Ivanhoe Blvd., Orlando. Tickets are $10 and are available at cfcarts.com/baroque-to-beatles

APRIL 5

The Hearts of Gold concert, benefiting the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, starts at 6 p.m. April 5 with an all-access VIP reception, and the concert, featuring Sister Hazel, begins at 8 p.m. Visit cflhomeless.org for more information and to get tickets.

On Saturday, April 5, CFCArts will present Summon the Heroes, a concert featuring its Wind Ensemble. Conveying the many facets and shapes of heroism, the concert will feature sweeping film scores, aggressive and bold brass fanfares. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at Cornerstone Charter Academy, 5903 Randolph Ave., Orlando. Tickets are $10 and are available at cfcarts.com/summon-the-heroes

APRIL 7

On Monday, April 7, WUCF-TV’s executive director Polly Anderson will be the featured speaker for the monthly meeting of Winter Park Executive Women beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Winter Park Welcome Center. The subject will be “Public Television at its Best.” Register at winterpark.org

The University Club of Winter Park presents “The Xylophone: Its Origins and Use in Rag Time and Novelty Music” on Monday, April 7, at 10 a.m. Dr. Jeffrey Moore, professor of music and director of the UCF School of Performing Arts will speak. This free presentation will take place at 841 N. Park Ave. in Winter Park.

APRIL 9

Learn about the mechanics of tall floral arrangements with the Winter Park Garden Club at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at 1300 S. Denning Drive, Winter Park. Floral designer Carol Cavanaugh will demonstrate how to create pleasing arrangements in tall vase containers. Attendance is free. Call 407-644-5770.
