Light up the season

The city of Maitland’s Season of Light holiday celebration will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6, beginning at 5 p.m. in Lake Lily Park. This long-standing tradition is a prelude to the holiday season and is highlighted by the lighting of the tree that will float in the center of beautiful Lake Lily to commemorate the holiday season.

We invite you and your entire family to join us for this special celebration that provides an excellent opportunity to make new holiday memories and share the spirit of the season with friends and loved ones.

You are invited to stroll around Lake Lily Park we will have several food options to choose from such as Midnight Sun Ice Cream Truck, The Crepe Truck or enjoy some gourmet French fries, hotdogs, kettle korn, and cookies by the dozen.

You may even run into Santa Claus!

Entertainment for this year’s event will begin at 5 p.m. and will feature live stage performances by The Maitland Middle School Stage Band, Chorus, Chamber Orchestra, The Colby Studio Dancers and the Maitland Academy of Performing Arts Dancers.

We invite you to take time out of your holiday schedule to visit with us at Lake Lily Park as we celebrate the holidays with a special visit from Santa and a fireworks finale at 7 p.m. What better way to get the entire family into the holiday spirit then to come to the Season of Light celebration in Maitland’s Lake Lily Park? New Lynx route to provide SunRail access for Maitland Center employees

Join us for the launch of Lynx’s Maitland Center NeighborLink on Tuesday, Dec.16, at 7:45 a.m. at the Maitland SunRail station. A 15-minute program will feature brief remarks from Mayor Howard A. Schieferdecker, U.S. Representative John L. Mica, and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs.

The new route, NeighborLink 652, will provide a public transportation alternative to Maitland Center employees who currently commute by car. NeighborLink 652 will take passengers from the Maitland SunRail station to Maitland Center in the morning with round-trip service in the evening.
