The days of summer are dwindling, which means it’s time to start breaking out the binders and sharpening up your kids’ pencils. It’s back-to-school season, and whether your kids are entering pre-K or 12th grade we’ve got a guide for all the dates and deals going on to get you ready before the tardy bell rings.

All the supplies without all the taxes

Want to stock up on all your school necessities without the extra sales tax? The 2014 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday for Florida runs from Aug. 1 to Aug. 3. Save some cash on school supplies – from collared shirts to crayons – during the annual weekend event. OCPS guide for back to school

Orange County Public Schools has a webpage built for students, parents and the community to each get to know the school-season necessities pertaining to them. Visit ocps.net/Parents/Pages/BacktoSchool.aspx for all the need-to-have registration information. All Orange County students must register by Aug. 6 to secure their spot and schedule before the school year starts on Monday, Aug. 18.

Aloma Elementary

On Friday, Aug. 15, Aloma Elementary will host its meet the teachers event from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Visit www.eal.ocps.net for more information.

Audubon Park Elementary

Audubon Park Elementary will host a Meet the Teachers event for its newest Falcons entering kindergarten on Thursday, Aug. 14, at 3 p.m. Returning or new students entering grades first through fifth can come out between 4 and 6 p.m. on Aug. 14 to check out their new classrooms and meet their teachers for the new school year. Brookshire Elementary

Brookshire Elementary will host its Meet the Teacher night on Aug. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for all grades of incoming students. New and incoming Bulldog parents can get all the details online at www.brookshire.ocps.net

Dommerich Elementary

Meet your students’ new teachers for the upcoming school year at Dommerich Elementary’s Meet the Teacher night on Aug. 14 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. This is the orientation time for all grades. Learn more at www.des.ocps.k12.fl.us

Killarney Elementary

See how lucky your kids got when you meet their teachers on Aug. 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Killarney Elementary. Shamrock parents can prepare for the new school year by visiting www.ocps.net/lc/north/eki

Lakemont Elementary

All students attending Lakemont Elementary this school year are welcome to meet their teachers on Friday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, visit www.elk.ocps.k12.fl.us

Lake Sybelia Elementary

Lake Sybelia students can come get their feet wet before jumping into the brand new school year by meeting their teachers on Aug. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. Incoming Dolphins in all grade are welcome. Visit www.ocps.net/lc/north/ely for more information.

Glenridge Middle

Get to know your students’ schedules and teachers at Glenridge Middle on Aug. 13 and 14. Incoming sixth graders can meet their teachers on Aug. 13 at 6 p.m., while all older Lions can come check out their classes on Aug. 14 at 6 p.m. at the “Mane Event.” Visit www.glenridge.ocps.net for additional information.

Maitland Middle

Maitland Middle School parents and students can come pick up their schedules and meet their teachers on Aug. 15 from 3 to 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.mm.ocps.net

Winter Park High School

WPHS will host “Welcome Back ’Cats” events the week before school officially starts for parents and students to pick up their schedules and meet their new teachers. The Ninth Grade Center will welcome the newest Wildcats to the pride with schedule pick-ups from 3 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 12 and from noon to 3 p.m. on Aug. 15. The main orientation event at the Center will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14. Call 407-623-1476 for more information.

The WPHS main campus hosts schedule pick-up events by grade. Seniors can come in between 8 and 11 a.m. on Aug. 12. Juniors are welcome to stop by from 8 to 11 a.m. on Aug. 14. Edgewater High School

Edgewater High students are welcome to pick up their schedules, textbooks and find their lockers in shifts by grade the week before school starts. Seniors can come to campus on Monday, August 11, between 1 and 4 p.m. Juniors can stop by the next day, Aug. 12, between 9 a.m. and noon. Sophomores are welcome that same day, Aug. 12, between 1 and 4 p.m. And freshman can check out their new school and schedules from 2 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 14. New student orientation is Aug. 14 from 4 to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.ehs.ocps.net

Orangewood Christian

Orangewood Christian students start back to school a week earlier than OCPS students. The first day of class is Aug. 13. The school will host schedule pick-up and supply drop-off on Aug. 11. The day starts with a prayer kickoff at 8 a.m. At 8:30 a.m., all pre-K4 through first grade students and new second through sixth grade students are welcome through 10 a.m. Returning second through sixth graders and their parents can stop by the school between 10 and 11 a.m. There will be a uniform exchange from 9 to 11 a.m. the same day.

The evening of Aug. 11, from 6 to 7 p.m. there will be a parents-only information session on the high school campus. Beginning at 7:30 p.m. there will be an open house for all seventh through 12th graders.

On Aug. 12 middle school and high school students are welcome to drop off supplies and meet their teachers between 1 and 3 p.m.

Lake Forrest Preparatory School

Students and parents are welcome to come out to meet their teachers and visit their classrooms at Lake Forrest Prep on Aug. 15 from 3 to 5 p.m. The first day of school for students will be Aug. 18. For more information, visit lakeforrestprep.com

St. Margaret Mary School

Winter Park’s St. Margaret Mary School will kickoff classes on Tuesday, Aug. 12. Prior to the first day, families new to the school can have a chance to mingle at the New Family Social on Sunday, Aug. 10, from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Parrish Hall. Orientation Day for all students is Monday, Aug. 11, from noon to 3 p.m.

The Geneva School

Geneva School students of all ages will return to their classrooms on Thursday, Aug. 14. Parents and students can meet the teachers on Aug. 13. Students and parents in K4 through first grade can meet their teachers between 9:30 and 11 a.m. Following that, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., students and parents in second through sixth grade are welcomed back to campus to meet their teachers. Trinity Preparatory School

The first day of school for Trinity Prep students will be Aug. 18. Before that, new students are welcomed to campus for orientation on Aug. 15 from 8 to 11 a.m. For more information, visit trinityprep.org
