Name: Austin Campbell

Age: 16

Accomplishments: Football: three-year starter for varsity football and one-year as captain; first junior to be named first team all-district at Trinity Prep; record for longest pick-six at 97 yards; and part of the district runners-up team for the 2015-16 varsity football team.

Soccer: three-year starter for varsity soccer and one year as captain; and recipient of the Dr. Pedro BackRack hustle award.

Track: four years running on varsity track team; as a freshman, was second in the district, fourth in the region and 16th in the state in 300 meter hurdles; as a sophomore, was district champion, regional champion and 11th in the state; as a junior, was district champion for second year in a row and regional runner-up, and also finished sixth in the state.

I was ranked as the second fastest sophomore in the state my sophomore year, and was the only freshman to make state and the first Trinity Prep hurdler to make state as a freshman. I also was the winner of the rookie of the year award as a freshman. And, I competed and won my heat at FSU relays as a junior and have been accepted to run at the Golden South Classic on May 28.

Favorite athletes: Tim Tebow, Lolo Jones, Félix Sánchez, and Drew Brees.

Hopes for the future: I hope to run D1 collegiate track and continue running hurdles. I plan to major in business management or finance with a possible minor in entomology to possibly take over my dad’s business one day and start a small business of my own at some point. My ultimate dream would be to run for the University of Florida being that I grew up always going to Gainesville, and I would be a third generation Gator. They have an incredible track program and an even better hurdle program that I hope I can be a part of one day.

What do you like to do for fun? I love to go out with friends and relax. I love writing and performing music around the country and in my local area for organizations such as ACDA (American Choral Director Association). Also, when I get the time, I enjoy playing some video games on late nights with my friends to unwind from the week.

What do you like most about being a Trinity Prep Saint? I love being a Saint for a multitude of reasons. The main reason is that I have the blessing to go to an incredible academic school and get a great education, while still being able to focus on becoming the best athlete I can be. Trinity Prep allows me to get the necessities to be successful while pursuing my passion daily. It is such a well-rounded school with great academics, arts and athletics, and I have the opportunity to participate in them all. Also having such a family community and personable teachers makes the entire experience so unique and incredible.
