What’s in a name? For the city of Winter Park it could be a boost in funding for one of the city’s biggest projects.

Winter Park City Commissioners will vote on Monday, Nov. 27 whether or not to create a new funding source for the new library/event center planned for Martin Luther King Jr. Park.

A new naming policy for the project’s buildings and various indoor and outdoor spaces would help the Winter Park Public Library pay for their $2.5 million portion of the new facility’s cost.

The policy would also help pay for several unexpected design features added to the project by Adjaye Associates in their conceptual design, including a rooftop venue on top of the event center and an outdoor amphitheater on the park’s lake.
